Making stitched journals from printable pages is probably my favorite type of journal. One of the things I love best about using beautiful printable journal pages, is that the hard work is already done for you. You don’t need to worry about starting with a blank page and wondering what to do with it because the pages are already filled with beautiful imagery.
However it gets even better because you can use the imagery as inspiration for adding mixed media elements such as fabric and stitch, quotations, images, and small fabric collages. Adding your own personal embellishments to the pages turns a lovely journal into something beautiful and unique.
For my latest journal – The Summer Garden Journal – I designed and used pages from my printable journal kit The Summer Garden Journal with just that thought in mind. It was so much fun to make, and I love the way it turned out. I even made a fancy cover for the journal using some fabric manipulation, something I haven’t tried before, and was so pleased with the results. I’ll definitely be doing that again.
