After picking up some Golden Open Acrylic Paints yesterday while I was out shopping yesterday, I couldn’t wait to try them out.
Ordinary acrylic paint dries fairly quickly, but open acrylics are slow drying which means that you can take your time mixing and blending them. When using them with a gel plate, this is an advantage because you can take your time with placement of stencil designs, as well as other mark making techniques. As with all Golden products, these paints are highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. On these gel plate prints, I had a play with some stencils as well as blending colors.
This is an original print plus the ghost print (second print). Both have great color.
And these prints are the original which was made using one of the stencils I made on my Cameo a couple of weeks ago, a ghost print, and then a print from the stencil itself. I can see I’m going to have a lot of fun with these paints.
